Same-Sex Marriage & Divorce

In June 2015, the United States Supreme Court’s ruling legalized same-sex marriages. The ruling also permits the recognition of same-sex marriages that were validly performed in other states. This means that same sex-couples may get married in Georgia. And, if you were married in another state, your marriage will be acknowledged in the state of Georgia.

Now, same-sex couples have the same rights as heterosexual couples regarding marriage. These same rights apply to divorces as well.
